An Old Yellowstone Building Gets a New Readyslate Roof

Nestled in the heart of Yellowstone National Park, this building has undergone a transformation to bring it back its original glory. The roof, once weathered and worn, now gleams with the natural elegance of Readyslate’s real slate.

Yellowstone was established in 1872 as the world’s first national park. Spanning over 2.2 million acres of breathtaking wilderness, the park sees millions of visitors annually, all eager to witness its geysers, hot springs, and diverse wildlife.

Within these impressive surroundings, every building inside the park is carefully analyzed and designed. When it came time to renovate this roof, a sustainable product emerged naturally: Readyslate.

The original roof on the old bank building was believed to be slate, so when selecting a product for the re-roof, the team planned to keep the building as authentic as possible. However, the contractor had concerns for the structural integrity of the building with a traditional slate roof.

Due to Readyslate’s lightweight panels, the innovative system was the perfect fit to maintain the historical charm while complying with weight requirements.

Yellowstone National Park is a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife. From the majestic bison roaming the grasslands to the elusive gray wolves and grizzly bears that call the park home, every creature contributes to the vibrant ecosystem.

This same respect for nature is reflected in the careful selection of Readyslate for the building’s roof, ensuring that the renovation honors the park’s commitment to sustainability and conservation.

During the photo shoot for the newly renovated building, a Great Horned Owl nest nearby added an unexpected twist. To avoid disturbing the owls, our photographer refrained from using her drone, highlighting our commitment to preserving the tranquility of the park.
