CUPACLAD for Webster Five’s Auburn headquarters
Webster Five, a local bank with a 150-year legacy of community support and fiscal strength, has relocated its headquarters to a newly designed facility at 35 Millbury Street in Auburn, a town located in Worcester County (Massachusetts). This project reflects a seamless blend of heritage, innovation, and sustainability.
The Massachusetts bank’s project of reuniting its employees under one roof began with a mission: to create a functional, sustainable, and welcoming space that aligns with its long-standing community values. The Webster Five’s acquisition of a 40,000-square-foot building marked the start of a remarkable adaptive reuse project. Purchased in 2019, the property underwent extensive redesign and renovation, culminating in its official opening as Webster Five’s modern headquarters in Auburn.
This journey would not have been possible without Studio Troika, a Boston-based architecture firm that perfectly managed to bring Webster Five’s vision to life. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty surrounding Auburn, Studio Troika designed an inviting and collaborative space infused with light and color. The use of sustainable materials like slate and wood provided the building with an ageless design.
One of the standout features of the new headquarters is its facade, cladded with the CUPACLAD 101 LOGIC rainscreen system. This state-of-the-art cladding combines natural slate with a modern fixing system, providing both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits. The 16”x8” slates are installed horizontally with invisible stainless-steel screws, ensuring a sleek, uninterrupted facade. The system’s durability, thermal efficiency, and low-maintenance requirements align perfectly with Webster Five’s sustainability goals.
CUPACLAD’s slate façade systems enable the construction of efficient, sustainable rainscreen cladding. A life cycle analysis confirms CUPACLAD as the ecological option for façade cladding thanks to the use of natural slate instead of prefabricated products. The product is also backed by a 100-year warranty, truly built to last a lifetime.
To sum up, the Auburn headquarters stands as a testament to the bank’s ability to honor its rich history while embracing modernity with the CUPACLAD 101 LOGIC facade. The integration of natural materials, sustainable design, and innovative cladding highlights a forward-thinking approach that balances tradition and progress.
