But first, let us introduce you the 4 key things to bear in mind when choosing the proper roofing material…

WHAT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR ROOFING MATERIAL

  1. The warranty is an “essential”

A good quality roofing slate is an unbeatable product for any project, thanks to its natural properties. However, there are slates on the market that vary in composition and quality, giving highly diverse performance.

Choosing a CUPA PIZARRAS product means opting for peace of mind. The quality of our slates is guaranteed by meticulous control throughout the whole production process.

Actually, our resolute commitment to quality has led us to offer a 100 years warranty on Heavy 3 slates.

  2. Cost-effectiveness and maintenance

A poor quality roof needs constant repair and maintenance, but when good quality slate is used, those expenses during its lifetime are extremely low.

Since CUPA PIZARRAS’ slate started to be used in Scotland more than 20 years ago, there have been no cases of Heavy 3 roofs being replaced or repaired.

  3. The importance of Quarry’s reputation

The slate characteristics depend on where it has been extracted. That is why it is imperative to validate the reputation from both the quarry and the company which produces it.

Heavy 3 slate is quarried from the CUPA PIZARRAS No 3 quarry in San Pedro de Trones (León) in northern Spain. This quarry has been in operation since 1892 and produces around 25,000 tons each year, so its reputation is confirmed!

  4. Better choose a true Heavy

Performance is a key point to take into consideration when choosing a roofing material, and Heavy 3 will out-perform better than other roofing materials.

It is produced at a thickness of 7-8 mm. This extra thickness gives it strength to combat dampness, high wind speeds and driving rains common throughout Scotland.
